The passage from September to October brought a crispness to the air, a vibrant spectacle of color for those of us living in areas where seasons truly change. I was fortunate to travel this month for a long weekend. The trip by car allowed me to see breathtaking leaves changing colors as we traveled into the higher mountain elevation.

After discussing changes with my editor, I’ve been extremely occupied with the final edits of my novel before it goes to the sensitivity editor. Contracting Covid while focused on work this month has hindered my progress. The recovery has been slow because of other immune issues. During my rest, I read two amazing, exciting, well-written, released novels and watched some streaming series.

Thankfully, I’m still able to meet with my students and help with their class assignments. I am scheduled for a medical procedure in October and hope that having Covid does not prevent this from happening.

Working closely with the team at Collaborative Cancer Care, we are organizing a May 2026 event. I am eager about being asked to work and help make this event become a reality.

Enjoy the rest of September and a happy start to October. I’ll try to write soon; I promise.
