My Busy Routine
“In every change, in every falling leaf there is some pain, some beauty. And that’s the way new leaves grow.”
— Amit Ray
- I spent a part of August into September wearing a surgical boot and being stung by Yellowjackets. When I finished my short story manuscript, “The Rambler,” I felt a wave of satisfaction as I sent it off to my amazing editor. Keep an eye out for my story, it’ll be available in November.
- By mid-October, The Rambler’s storybook trailer will be ready for release after being worked on. You won’t have to search far for the YouTube channel link – it’s available on my website.
- Lately, I’ve been dedicating my time to improving my writing skills through various projects. Workshops and classes are popular among published authors looking to improve their writing abilities. I’m an active user of Fictionary, and I love taking part in their Live Community with other users. I completed two writing courses offered by them: Six Weeks to Edit Your Novel and Revising a Novel in Six Weeks.
I appreciate the mindful L.D.C. who sent this to me, acknowledging my fondness for it. And now, I am thrilled to share it with all of you.????
One day it’s a day for sunglasses, shorts, and cold drinks. The birds were chirping, and there remained a rainbow of flowers in front of many yards. Overnight the wind pick up, and the air became cool and crisp. You could smell the smoke of fireplaces burning, keeping houses warm. There begins the palate of different colors among the leaves of each leaf falling to the ground. Fathers and their kids pulled out rakes to sweep these leaves into a pile near the street to be burned. As summer faded away, autumn arrived with a cool breeze. The brisk wind made it cold enough to be now wearing our coats and hats.
Do you remember those days while we were outside doing this with dad, he had fixed earlier a big pot of chili, while mom had made cornbread? We hurried to finish raking the leaves so we could savor a steaming bowl of chili and warm cornbread, filling our bellies and hearts with contentment.
Even our dog, Shadow, couldn’t wait to get back inside. Despite not planning on it, I felt compelled to go out and gather the ingredients for a hearty bowl of chili, just like my dad taught us. And of course I made some cornbread. I made enough to freeze, so I can enjoy it later when the temperature drops. I thought I shared that with you.
Welcome Autumn ????
