Moving Forward, Together
This month has moved quickly—and unevenly. I’ve been unwell for much of it, and while I’ve done my best to stay engaged and communicative, a series of unexpected infections disrupted my daily rhythm and my efforts to manage my body’s response to illness. I’m deeply grateful for the check-ins and encouragement along the way. They’ve meant more than I can easily express.
Even with this month’s challenges, I’m continuing to move forward on two goals that matter deeply to me.
One: I’ve completed my line edits and am now revising my outline and supporting materials for my editor, as I prepare for submission to an agent. Reaching this stage feels both steady and encouraging—a reminder that progress can be meaningful even when it unfolds more slowly than planned.
Two: I’m especially grateful for the support surrounding our preparations for the ONCOLOGUE Forum in May. Bringing this event to life involves many moving parts and knowing I’m not doing this work alone makes the process lighter and more hopeful as we move closer to the forum.
In addition, I’m working on a memorial journal in honor of my writing friend and colleague, whom we unexpectedly lost in January. The generosity and care reflected in the contributions from RIRW members have been profoundly moving. It’s a privilege to hold and steward these voices, and I remain committed to honoring them with the same attentiveness and respect that shaped our shared work.
Thank you for meeting this season with patience, kindness, and steadiness. Even when the rhythm shifts, it means a great deal to know we’re continuing forward—together.
