It’s intriguing how even with the best intentions to write and create, life finds a way to disrupt my plans. Despite my best efforts, I could not accomplish everything I had planned last month because of unanticipated health challenges. The air in the waiting room filled with the energy of medical tests and the soft murmur of conversations. I found tranquility in its serene ambiance. As I settled into the chair, the faint scent of antiseptic filled the air, evoking a sense of sterility and cleanliness. With a purposeful mindset, I made a mental note to document these emotions and experiences in my journal, fully embracing my role as an author and creative thinker. In my novel, I’ve incorporated these experiences, particularly when one of my characters, who carries a hereditary illness, anxiously awaits confirmation. Along the way, I have encountered some incredible healthcare receptionists and nurses who have made me feel valued. I have also appreciated the thoughtful follow-up phone calls, which have provided reassurance. Amidst the occasional frustration of meticulously arranging yet another appointment, I skillfully weave my characters’ stories, underscoring the significance of open and honest communication. The paintings on the walls, with their muted colors, bring vibrant hues to the room, while the receptionist’s melodic voice hums from behind the screened working spaces, create a serene atmosphere. The waiting period allowed ample time for self-reflection to take on a newfound significance. This month, I am determined to achieve my July first submission goal of my novel with all the revisions completed. And I plan to submit my first fifty pages due on July 25th to a contest. I can do this!!
I urge you to seek something positive about each day and hold on to it. Let’s celebrate June with happiness!
