It’s May
The smell of fresh blooms fills the air as my favorite month of the year arrives. A brighter sun, the days are longer, and I can feel the warmth of the season – not to mention it’s also my birthday month!
Short story to be Released
I spent the weeks leading up to this month working closely with my editor to perfect my short story Unlikely Friends, which will be published in the Summer edition of Transcendent Authors. Read below for a comprehensive description of the story.
Each New Morning
Every morning, I take time to appreciate the beauty of the trees as their blossoms transform before my eyes. Even in the cool morning air, the view was stunning. Sending you good vibes.

Mixing it Up
I am currently hard at work revising another short story, with a projected release date in the late autumn. I am creating a revision plan for my novel, the warmth of my mug of coffee beside me as I work towards completing it by early June.
With Joy
With joy, I crafted three celebratory special storybook trailers this month. I have already distributed two of them, and I will release one more this month. Because of the pressing timeline, the Unlikely Friends storybook trailer is in the works.
What I am reading this month:
- Where Waters Meet – Zhang Ling
- The Secret Diaries of Charles Ignatius Sancho
- The Covenant of Water -Abraham Verghese
- And my new favorite Quote: “Sound has no words”
Unlikely Friends Synopsis
On a chilly October day, after the sudden loss of her husband, a middle-aged Black woman must take on the responsibility of managing the catering business she and her husband built. Kept up with the demands of her catering company.
In February, the privileged elderly white woman had her world turned upside down when the man she had shared her life with passed away. She had been an active socialite, her identity and standing defined by her husband’s wealth and status. Now she must find direction without the steady presence of her partner of forty-seven years.
A friend and customer brought these two women together, each in various stages of grief, to find a deep connection that would alter their lives forever.
“Unlikely Friends” paints a vivid picture of how grief can bridge the divides of social, racial, and economic status with the help of nature’s changing seasons.
