About

Meet L’Michelle

L’Michelle‘s love for books began in her childhood home. Her parents’ vicarious readers often found her under a dogwood tree in the yard, reading or writing in her journal. She began writing book reviews for a community newspaper, hoping to encourage people to read emerging authors. While completing an MBA, she began sketching an idea for a novel and started working on her first contemporary fiction book. Currently, she is working with an editor revising the manuscript for her upcoming novel.

A close friend regularly encourages her to write short stories when L’Michelle needs a break from work on her novel. In this medium, L’Michelle balances her concern for the voiceless and love for nature to spotlight the human condition.

She holds degrees in Education, a Leadership Certificate, and an MBA in Strategic Organizational Management. A former Wall Street and Media Communications professional, corporate trainer and educator, L’Michelle has taken her professional expertise to create a platform of advocacy for domestic violence, and brings attention to the indigenous woman’s plight with her writing. L’Michelle works with young people tutoring and encouraging them to improve their reading and writing skills.

When she is not reading, writing or creating story trailers, L’ Michelle loves to cook and try new recipes, wines, and watch movies. She loves nature and takes daily uninterrupted long walks to reconnect and meditate. Her deep abiding relationship with God and faith keep her inspired to do more.

Story Telling

When searching for a way to bring her storytelling to life, L’Michelle discovered book trailers. After releasing two trailers for the Transcendent Authors’ Spring—The Unexpected anthology and desiring to enhance the detail of her story trailers, L’Michelle partnered with a web designer and fellow author of the Transcendent Authors, Lyn Blair. Lyn shared web software to add to the depth L’Michelle wanted for her visual stories. This spring, working with Lyn, L’Michelle, consulted during the development of the Transcendent Authors’ website and consulted on their Spring anthology book cover. Impressed with their work, the two partnered, creating L&L. In partnership, their joint body of work for the Transcendent Authors is the Winter anthology book cover and trailer recently released. In addition, the group contracted them to create ten individual teasers for weekly email promotion as part of marketing the anthology’s release in October 2022. L’Michelle has taught several authors her process of creating trailers for their stories. At the conclusion of the session, students receive a copy of her Trailer Tip sheet as a guide. L&L’s brief introductory workshop highlights the process of how to design a story trailer. They are available for individual consultations. We adapt our sessions for the needs of different audiences and for length requirements. Check out our Behind the Scenes trailer.
