Ever since I was a little kid I was terrified of roller coasters. I can remember going to amusement parks with my family and being to afraid to “ride the big kid rides”. There is one time I remember like it was yesterday… I was very young..my family wanted to go on the log ride and for those of you who don’t know what that is, it looks a little something like this..
I asked my grandpa why he didn’t want to go on the log ride and he said, ” well because I’m a chicken.” I said “If you’re a chicken then I’m a goose!” Yeah I didn’t want to go on that ride either. I don’t think I was even old enough to know what my grandpa meant by that, all I know was he didn’t want to go on the ride and neither did I! Years past and I was still terrified, until my senior year of high school we went to Holiday World and I fell in love with water coasters. I just couldn’t get over this fear.
Then I started dating Chris and everything changed. It’s like I knew I was going to be with him and I knew he wouldn’t let anything bad happen to me. With that being said, at the age of 23 I went on my first roller coaster. It was the California Screamin at California Adventure/Disneyland. I have never loved doing something so much in my life! This past year we got season passes to Six Flags Magic Mountain, so I could check out the really crazy coasters. I won’t lie there was one coaster there that was the most terrifying thing ever called x2.. except now it’s one of my favorites. There is nothing like facing your fears and falling in love with it. If you’re afraid of roller coasters like I was, don’t be! It’s one of the most incredible feelings in the world and you’re missing out!
Today (even though it was seriously so so so so so packed) Chris and I went to Six Flags for the first time this year. We only got to ride 3 rides in 4 hours, totally worth it. Here is a list of my favorites
- Goliath -255ft drop seriously the best drop in the park!
- Full Throttle-loop is 160ft in the sky & the number one tallest/fastest looping coaster in the world. You feel like you’re in that loop FOREVER!
- Superman- 1,315 ft of track that bends straight up into the sky 415ft high. Aside from the Drop of Doom, this is the tallest coaster.
- Tatsu -a flying coaster..you ride face down. 62 mph
- x2- 360 degree rotating seats, head first & face down drops.
Feel free to check out any of these rides on youtube to see how awesome they are or come to Magic Mountain so you can experience the awesomeness in person!
Not afraid of roller coaster. Check.
